In high school, my teacher told me I shouldn’t take the college-level English class because I didn’t have the skills needed to complete the course.
I passed it with a 97%.
Then, I graduated from a four-year college with a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Creative Writing. And I did it in three years.
It was when I looked back that I realized that motivation comes from within. That the key to being happy is simply choosing to be. And that a life you can be proud to live is one in which you create beauty through your attitude, your words, and your actions.
Hi there. I’m Amy.
I’m a writer, thinker, and creator. I believe in a world where windshield wipers should always leave your windows clean, emails should always be short, and everyone should always be encouraging.
I grew up, and still live, in Minnesota. Each winter I curse myself for living here and each winter I cozy up in sweaters and thank God I have friends and family to face the bitter cold with me.
I’m working on throwing out damaging thoughts into back-road ditches, building the kind of confidence where you walk into a room and don’t feel the need to compare yourself to anyone else in it, and living the kind of life I actually want for myself.
Tidbits and Morsels
I relish in the fact that I will never run out of something to watch on Netflix, hugging my knees under a heated blanket and drinking hot chocolate out of a Christmas mug in February.
I can barely make anything without a recipe, but I love to cook and bake anyway.
I have a couple of weaknesses: sweet white wine (like this one), teen fiction novels, and ice cream. My God, I love ice cream.
Explore with me. Learn with me. Laugh with me.
Welcome to my corner of the Internet. I’m glad you’re here.
