It’s Due Date Day for my beautiful friend, Marissa! We’re all giving this little one some encouragement to come out and meet us, but sticking true to the infant-way, Baby B is doing it his way and taking his sweet, sweet time.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s rewind to early March. My friends and I threw this glowing momma-to-be a late morning baby shower themed “Up, Up & Away, A Little One is on the Way!” and it was adorbs – just like Marissa.
I got the idea from Invitations By Dawn Blog, and as you can see, I used the invite on that site as strong inspiration for mine. I love the bold and unique colors because you don’t typically seem them at baby showers.
Since all of my gals wanted to chip in, I decided brunch was a great way to split things up. Our menu included:
- Waffles with strawberry sauce, syrup, and whipped cream
- Mini muffins
- Egg bake
- Strawberry and plain yogurt parfait bar with fresh berries and granola
- Orange juice
To help carry the theme from the invite to the event, I created some “hot air balloons” using mason jars, paper straws, yarn, and paper lanterns. All in all, these decorations were really reasonable and fairly easy to put together. I even set the extra straws out – another way to theme the event.
We had such a fun time celebrating Marissa and her new addition. Now we just have to wait for the little man to make his way out into the world!
